David Robertson

David Robertson is the minister of St Peter's Free Church in Dundee Scotland (the church of Robert Murray McCheyne). He is also the editor of 'The Record' and director of Solas Centre for Public Christianity. David has written a contemporary biography of McCheyne entitled 'Awakening', and a response to Richard Dawkins entitled 'The Dawkins Letters'. He enjoys discussing, debating and above all sharing the Christian faith with non-Christians. He shares his ministry with his wife Annabel. They have three children, Andrew (23), Becky (22) and Emma Jane (13).

Why is the world so unfair?

Injustice is always important to our thinking; this is why the reality of divine judgment always creates hope and meaning. Without the awareness of life and death with God we are no more than naked apes, living for today. This is the difference between humans and animals.

Life without God is one of oppression, competition, covetousness and envy, a chasing after the wind, in which fame and wealth too often end in loneliness. The believer cannot ignore this, knowing the strength of true companionship, as centering ultimately in Christ who says to His followers, “I have called you friends.”
